J.A. Carr Park is home to a half-mile crushed limestone walking and jogging trail. Nestled among shade trees, you will find a playground, a sand volleyball court, and picnic areas. The Simmons Center is located at this park and provides a rentable space for parties or other gatherings. Adjacent to the Simmons Center is a garden area with a gazebo that can also be rented for your activities.
This park got it's name from Joseph Allen Carr. His son, Cecil Carr, donated a portion of the land that now makes up the park. In 1976, the Park Board with the later approval of the City Council, decided to name parks in honor of those who donated the land for them. J.A. Carr Park was dedicated on July 11, 1976.
